DUPLESSIS, LA — The U.S. Postal Service is considering the potential relocation of retail operations from the Duplessis Main Post Office located at 39265 Highway 621, Duplessis, LA 70728 to a new, yet-to-be determined location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing Post Office location. The relocation is being considered because of non-renewal of the lease at the current facility.

The Postal Service will continue retail services at the Gonzales Post Office located at 1706 S Burnside Ave in Gonzales, LA 70737 until the new post office is up and running.

Duplessis Post Office customers have been notified about the potential relocation through a postcard in the mail and will have the opportunity to provide comments regarding the proposal.

We are inviting customers to send their comments on the proposal to the following address.  Comments must be received by Feb. 3, 2025.

After the comment period, the Postal Service will consider the comments received.  Following that consideration, the Postal Service will make a final decision to proceed with, modify, or cancel the proposal.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
