Background:

Tylar Archambault will be administered the oath of office by U.S. Postal Service Connecticut Valley District Manager Dave Mastroianni Jr. at a special ceremony.  Attendees include: senior postal managers, fellow postmasters, Shelburne Falls postal co-workers, family and friends. 

She is responsible for postal operations in Shelburne Falls, MA and oversees 9 employees, with mail delivery to 1,917 residential and business addresses, as well as 218 P.O. Boxes.

Postmaster Archambault will recite the oath of office that reflects the Postal Service’s 244 year legacy of public service. The U.S. Postal Service traces its roots to 1775 during the Second Continental Congress, when Benjamin Franklin was appointed the first postmaster general. The Post Office Department was created in 1792 from Franklin's operation, elevated to a cabinet-level department in 1872, and transformed in 1971 into the U.S. Postal Service as an independent agency.
