Some charred mail found in a Boylston Street collection box

Some charred mail was discovered Monday afternoon in the USPS collection box at 607 Boylston St. in Boston’s Copley Square. Postal Inspectors are investigating the incident.

Not all of the mail in the box was damaged. Anyone who placed mail into this box between 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 24 and early afternoon on Monday, October 26 should contact the intended recipient this week to make sure it arrived.

Postal Inspectors are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, or who may have any information about this incident to contact them at www.uspis.gov or 1-877-876-2455
