Background:

The Salisbury Post Office will be dedicated as the Sgt. Maj. Wardell B. Turner Post Office in a formal ceremony on March 29, 2019.  SGM Wardell Turner made the ultimate sacrifice for his country in Afghanistan on Nov. 24, 2014.  SGM Wardell Turner was a native of Wicomico County.

On Feb. 2, 2018, Rep. Andy Harris introduced bill (H.R. 4913) to dedicate the Salisbury Post Office in honor of SGM Wardell Turner. The bill was signed into Public Law 115-288 by the president on Dec. 6, 2018.

The ceremony is free and open to the public.
