The new machinery gives the Postal Service the capacity to process an additional 4.5 million packages each day.

The Delivering for America plan also includes the hiring 40,000 seasonal employees for the 2021 holiday season. In addition, USPS hiring efforts included the conversion of 63,000 pre-career employees into career position and the hiring of more than 60,000 pre-career employees.
