But mail delivery service continues locally
FORT HOWARD, MD — The Fort Howard Post Office, located at 9200 Howard Avenue, will cease retail operations, effective Saturday, Oct. 14.
Starting Oct. 31, residents who hold a Post Office box at the Fort Howard Post Office will begin receiving their daily mail via cluster box units (CBUs) located at the nearby Fort Howard Veteran’s Park at 9115 North Point Road.
Retail services are available at the contract postal unit at Freedom Drug, 7568 North Point Road, Edgemere, MD 21219, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Fort Howard Postmaster will remain at the 9200 Howard Avenue location until Oct. 31 to issue keys to the new CBUs. Residents will receive their mail at this location until the transition to the new CBUs is finalized.
