Mail Delivery Temporarily Suspended to residents along 2215 – 2729 Holbrook Ave. in Hamtramck, MI 48212 (Detroit, MI)

DETROIT, MI — Due to sidewalk and road construction along 2215 – 2729 Holbrook Ave in Hamtramck, MI 48212, USPS is temporarily suspending mail delivery for the safety of our letter carriers.

Beginning July 28, 2020 mail will be available for pick up on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the local post office:

Hamtramck Retail Office
2933 Caniff
Hamtramck, MI  48212

Tuesday Hours: 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
Thursday Hours: 9:30 am to 5:00 pm

Customers are advised that proper identification is needed to pick-up mail.  Customers will only be able to collect mail that matches the name and address of the identification.  If there is more than one family name at the address, each family representative would need to show a separate identification to collect their mail.

Regular street delivery is expected to begin Friday, August 7, 2020.

“We regret any inconvenience that this situation has caused,” said Postmaster Derron Bray, City of Detroit. “The Postal Service suspends delivery only after careful consideration, and only as a last resort. We appreciate your understanding of our responsibility for the safety of our employees as well as of our customers.”

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
