DETROIT, MI – Effective Tuesday, September 1, 2020, the Postal Service will suspend service at the Old Redford Retail Post Office located at 22503 Grand River Ave., Detroit, MI 48219. Negotiations for a new lease agreement continue between the Postal Service and the landlord.

Delivery to customers in the 48219 ZIP Code area will not be affected. Customers who receive a PS Form 3849 Redelivery Notice can pick-up parcels and accountable mail at the Brightmoor Station located at 20615 Fenkell St., Detroit, MI 48223, 2.1 miles away.

Post Office Box customers

Customers can obtain a P. O. Box at the Brightmoor Station, 20615 Fenkell St., Detroit, MI 48223. Lobby access at the Brightmoor Station is from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Customers who currently hold a P.O. Box at the Old Redford Post Office are to contact the Manager, Brightmoor Station, at (313) 532-3806 for relocation information. P. O. Box refunds can be obtained at the Brightmoor Station.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
