USPS to host DRIVE-THRU Job Fair at three Detroit area locations

DETROIT, MI — Are you interested in employment with the U.S. Postal Service? Start planning your career now. USPS is hosting three Drive-Thru Job Fairs in the Detroit area.

This is an outdoor, drive-thru event. Employees working the job fair will wear masks and will social distance. Masks and social distancing are required for all attendees.

The Postal Service has vacancies for city carrier assistants ($17.29 per hour), rural carrier associates ($18.56 per hour), and assistant rural carriers ($18.56 per hour), Postal Support Employee (PSE) mail processing clerks ($18.15 per hour), mail handler assistants ($16.55 per hour) and various peak season vacancies. Driving jobs require a valid Michigan driver’s license, two years’ driving experience, and a good driving record.

The city carrier assistant, rural carrier associate, PSE mail processing clerk and mail handler assistants are non-career positions that offer limited health benefits but may lead to regular full-time employment with the Postal Service. Assistant rural carrier positions do not follow a career path.

Attendees must be more than17 years of age.

Applicants for all USPS positions must be a United States citizen, a lawful permanent resident alien, a citizen of American Samoa or any other territory owing allegiance to the United States.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
