USPS Job Fair at the Traverse City Processing Facility

Traverse City, MI — If you’re looking for a job with the U.S. Postal Service and live in the Traverse City area, you’ll be interested to know that the Traverse City Post Office is hosting a job fair at the USPS Processing and Distribution Center, 1801 Garfield Rd. North, on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Job Fair will be a combination of drive-thru and walk in.

USPS is recruiting for all positions including city carrier assistant (CCA), rural carrier associate (RCA), assistant rural carrier (ARC), mailhandler assistant (MHA), Postal support employee (PSE), tractor trailer operator (TTO) and automotive technician (AT).  

The Postal Service currently has vacancies for CCAs — ($18.51 per hour), RCAs — ($19.06 per hour), and ARCs ($19.06 per hour) — Saturdays, Sundays and observed holidays only. USPS also needs PSE mail processing clerks ($18.69 per hour), MHAs ($16.87 per hour). If driving is part of the job, applicants must have a valid Michigan state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of documented driving experience.

To be considered for the positions, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or High School graduate.
  • Must be US Citizen or have permanent resident alien status.
  • Must pass a background check, drug test and pre-employment medical assessment.

The Postal Service is hosting job fairs nationwide as part of “Delivering for America,” the 10-year plan for financial sustainability and service excellence. USPS is preparing for the higher delivery demands of the 2021 holiday peak season through increased hiring of delivery and processing operations personnel.
