Background:

Richard Herr began his career with the Postal Service on August 5, 1966. His greatest professional achievement is driving 55 years with no motor vehicle accident. His greatest personal accomplishment is earning the Silver Beaver Award, Boy Scouts of America, to recognize registered Scouters of exceptional character who have provided distinguished service within a council.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
