Media Open House: Detroit Network Distribution Center (NDC) in Allen Park, MI. With the Postmaster General’s Delivering for America plan – We Are Ready!

The Postal Service will host a behind-the-scenes tour of holiday operations at the Detroit NDC featuring an up-close look at package processing and tractor trailers full of packages moving through the facility for delivery to other processing centers and local post offices.

The Postal Service is preparing for the holidays and is ready to meet the growing customer demand for package delivery. Last year’s holiday season was like no other for both USPS and its customers. Package delivery grew nearly 48 percent driven by the surge in online shopping and ecommerce due to the COVID pandemic. Last year, despite the challenges of the pandemic, the Postal Service delivered a record 1.1 billion packages.
