The U.S. Postal Service is sending out a postcard for the Elmira Post Office located at 8846 Underwood Ave., Elmira, MI 49730-9803.

Background:

Due to a loss by fire, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail services to a yet-to-be-determined location within the zip codes of 49730. The desired size of the new facility needs to be one of the following: (a) an existing building that is approximately 1,832 gross square feet with 11+ dedicated parking stalls that will have both retail and carriers, (b) an existing building that is approximately 770 gross square feet with 8+ dedicated parking stalls that will house only retail, or (c) land to lease that is approximately 8,500 square feet in which the Postal Service can bring in a modular building.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue temporarily at the Gaylord Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.
