Manitou Beach, MI – The United States Postal Service has made a final decision to relocate retail services from the Manitou Beach, MI Post office formerly located at 1235 Elm St. to 851 Manitou Rd., Manitou Beach, MI 49253-9997.

A postcard was sent on June 3, 2022, asking for community input. The Postal Service must relocate because the landlord has decided to redevelop the property.

The Postal Service anticipates providing the same services at the new location as were provided to our customers at the former location. Additionally, the Postal Service plans to continue services at the current Post Office until the replacement facility is open and operating as a Post Office.

While the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on its customers and the Manitou Beach, MI community, the Postal Service properly considered community input and this decision is consistent with Postal Service objectives. Postal Service operations are not supported by tax dollars. To be self-sustaining, the Postal Service must make decisions that ensure it provides adequate and affordable postal services in a manner that is as efficient and economical as possible.
