Celebrating romance with a Valentine’s Pictorial Postmark at the Romeo, MI Post Office

Valentine's Day Pictorial Postmark

ROMEO, MI — For the 33rd consecutive year, the Romeo, Michigan Post Office, 119 Church St, Romeo, MI 48065, will continue a Valentine’s tradition offering a romantic pictorial postmark. Adding to the Valentine’s charm, the Romeo Post Office presents a unique dual postmark with the Juliette, Georgia Post Office.

Hopeless romantics can have their valentine cards cancelled in Romeo, Michigan with this year’s official cancellation highlighting a silhouette of classic Romeo and Juliet sweethearts expressing their love and affection with the words, “Celebrating Love on Valentine’s Day.”

The same unique cancellation will be applied on letters mailed to the Juliette, GA Post Office. The tender pictorial postmark has attracted hopeless romantics and collectors through the years from across the nation and countries all over the world including France, Italy and Japan.

The 2026 Valentine’s pictorial postmark was designed by Kevin Colton of New York, a professional photographer and cachetmaker, who says on his website, KSC Cachets, “I make my living as a Professional Photographer, but Postal History and First Day Covers have been a passion since my early childhood.” Colton won top honors for his 2023 USPS Winter Woodland Animals Deer stamp cachet in the American First Day Cover Society’s annual cachetmakers contest.

If you are unable to visit the Romeo Post Office, mail-in requests are available until March 1, 2026. To receive this special cancellation, enclose your stamped, addressed cards in a larger envelope, and mail to:
