Marshall and Ceresco Post Offices Welcome New Postmaster

Swearing In Ceremony for William Day on April 16

Marshall, MI – On Thursday, April 16th, in his 26th year as a postal employee, William Day will be sworn in as Marshall and Ceresco Postmaster.

USPS Manager of Postal Operations Laura Webber will swear in William Day at a ceremony at 4:00 p.m.

Day began his postal career in Marshall as a temporary relief carrier in 1999. In 2020 through 2022, he became the Officer-In-Charge in Olivet, Vicksburg, Tekonsha, Marshall and Athens.  Day’s last assignment before his appointment was as Postmaster of Athens, MI.

Day is a graduate of Marshall High School. His grandmother was a rural carrier in Marshall for 22 years. Day credits his grandmother for introducing him to the Postal Service.

Day is married to his wife, Sarah for 17 years. They have three children

“Customer Service is what I set my pride on,” says Day. “I inspire my staff to take pride in what they do every day. Serving this community has been a lifelong dream and I pledge to give my customer’s the service they deserve.”

As Postmaster over Marshall and Ceresco, Day oversees 26 employees who deliver to 14 routes and 1,108 Post Office Boxes.
