POSTAL SERVICE HOSTS OPEN HOUSE AT MINNEAPOLIS LORING STATION

Customer celebration planned for reopening of facility

What:

Postmaster Will Jones will hold an Open House for the Minneapolis Downtown community to celebrate the return of the Loring Postal Station.  Refreshments will be provided.

 

When:

Monday, February 4, 2019, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

 

Where:

Minneapolis Loring Station, 18 N. 12th St.

 

Background:

The Loring facility was temporarily closed due to an overnight fire on April 21, 2018. 

After extensive renovation and repairs, the Postal Service is happy to resume full services at the facility.  Official opening date was Monday, January 28.

Postal leadership as well as Minneapolis community leaders are expected to attend. Jones is inviting residents and business owners to stop by for the meet and greet. A hiring table will also be set up for those interested in a Postal Service career.

“The Post Office is the heart of any community,” Jones said. “I hope everyone can join us in this celebration.”

The Loring Station is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday.  The lobby is open from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
