FARMINGTON, MN — After careful consideration of all comments and concerns expressed, as well as appeals submitted, the Postal Service has made its final decision to relocate retail services to the new Carrier Annex facility located at 113 Elm Street.
By combining its carrier operations and retail services into one building, the Postal Service is able to operate more efficiently and save money. The new facility has sufficient parking and is easy to access. The Postal Service anticipates providing the same services at the new location as are provided to our customers at the existing one.
The Postal Service will stay at 216 Oak Street until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location. The address and PO Box numbers will not change due to relocation of the Post Office.
While the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on its customers and the Farmington community, it has properly considered community input and this decision is consistent with Postal Service objectives.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
