On August 30, 31, and September 1, the Lake of the Woods area in Minnesota will kick off the 2019 World Ploughing Championship. Among the highlights will be a Special Pictorial Postmark marking the event.

USPS Baudette Postmaster Michelle Frederick-Riopelle will offer a special August 30th pictorial cancelation in conjunction with the Ploughing Championship.

Background:

Baudette Postmaster Michelle Frederick-Riopelle will be at the Post Office to postmark cards and letters affixed with proper postage. Envelopes, stamps and postcards will be available to purchase. “Pictorial Postmarks are offered by the Postal Service as a way to recognize significant events in communities throughout our nation,” Frederick-Riopelle said. “They make great, inexpensive souvenirs and are valued collectibles.”

This special postmark is a must-have. Can’t make it to the event? The postmark is also available for 30 days after by mail. To request by mail, affix First-Class postage to an envelope or postcard of your choice, using any stamps that were issued before August 30. Place in a larger envelope (along with a large self-addressed stamped envelope for the return trip) and send to:
