Some Blue Mail Collection Boxes Temporarily Removed In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Out of an abundance of caution, the United States Postal Service has temporarily taken some of the blue collection boxes out of service in Minneapolis until further notice. The impacted locations are as follows:

  • 337 2nd Ave S., Minneapolis, MN 55401
  • 247 3rd Ave S., Minneapolis, MN 55415
  • 315 S. 4th St, Minneapolis, MN 55415
  • 701 4th Ave S., Minneapolis, MN 55415
  • 100 S. 1st St, Minneapolis, MN 55401 (all outside boxes)
  • 825 Nicollet Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55402
  • 901 3rd Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404
  • 525 Portland Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55415
  • 6900 Humboldt Ave N, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430

Any mail placed in these boxes before removal has been accounted for and is in processing to its destination.

“The safety of our employees and the mail is our top priority,” said Minneapolis Postmaster William Jones.  “These boxes will be placed back in their designated locations as soon as our Postal Inspection team deems it safe to do so.”
