Lake Street Post Office Grand Reopening. The United States Postal Service will host a reopening ceremony and customer appreciation event at the Lake Street Post Office. The Postal Service proudly plays the role of connecting neighbors and our community to the nation. Our Post Offices serve as a lifeline for our small businesses to reach customers no matter where they are. Under Delivering For America, the Postal Service’s 10-year plan, we are maintaining universal six-day mail delivery and expanded seven-day package delivery, stabilizing our workforce, and spurring innovation to meet the needs of our modern customers. USPS is honored to give the residents of the Lake Street community of Minneapolis a new state-of-the-art Post Office.

Background:

In the aftermath of the 2020 civil unrest in Minneapolis, MN, postal operations were suspended at the Lake Street Post Office due to major fire damage. The Postal Service has rebuilt the Lake Street Post Office and officially resumed postal operations on October 11, 2022. Just as the Postal Service continues to provide a vital service for our nation, the staff of the Lake Street Post Office will proudly continue that same public service in this community.
