Notice of Proposed Relocation and Comment Period

What:

The U.S. Postal Service is mailing a postcard to the Becker MN addresses, announcing a proposed relocation of the Post Office currently located at 13974 1st Street, Becker, MN 55308-9349. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Background:

Due to the potential loss of lease, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within two miles of the current location. The Postal Service is looking for either (a) an existing building that is about 3,800 SF with about 26+ parking or (b) lease a smaller facility for retail that is about 990 SF with about 13+ parking and relocate carriers to the Monticello Post Office located at 206 E 7th St.   

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the current Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.

We are inviting comments on the proposal and request they be sent to the following address within the next 45 days: United States Postal Service, ATTN: Becker MN Relocation, PO BOX 27497, Greensboro, NC 27498-1103.
