ROCKVILLE, MN – As part of the United States Postal Service's "For the Long Haul" initiative, we are thrilled to celebrate Karen Christen, a dedicated retail associate who has faithfully served the Rockville-Cold Spring community for over 28 years. Karen’s commitment and exceptional service have made her a beloved figure in the community.

"For the Long Haul" is an initiative designed to honor the remarkable dedication of long-serving USPS employees like Karen, who have become integral parts of their communities through their unwavering commitment and service excellence.

Karen Christen began her career with USPS in 1997 and quickly established herself as a reliable and friendly presence at the Cold Spring Post Office. Karen transferred to the Rockville Post Office in 2014 where she has continued her commitment to providing excellent customer service. Over the years, Karen has become a familiar face to countless customers, known for her warm smile, helpful attitude, and outstanding service. Her deep knowledge of postal operations and her genuine care for the community have made her an indispensable part of the Rockville Post Office.

“I live in an area where there are several small-town Post Offices near each other, and I have had the opportunity to work in most of them,” said Karen. “Over the years, I have met many interesting people, both co-workers and customers. Many of whom I am happy to call "friends."

Karen added, “I have always considered myself fortunate to work for the United States Postal Service. I was lucky to have been hired and mentored by a great team leader and welcomed into a great group of co-workers.”

She has developed a customer focused retail interaction that leaves a positive impression on each customer each day. Karen has great attention to detail and a solid retail presentation  that meets both USPS and the customer’s expectation. Karen is one of the most dedicated employees I have worked with over my years. Words that describe Karen would include dependable, organized and team player. The most notable thing I observe about Karen is her ability to interact and meet the needs of a large immigrant population in the community. It is great that she uses the translation tool to help meet the customers’ needs and increases Postal Service retail revenue while doing so. Karen can often be found going the extra mile to make the Post Office one of the cleanest and most professional places in town.”
