St. Louis, MO — The United States Postal Service invited the Greater St. Louis, MO, Postal Customer Council to tour the Network Distribution Center and share information with local business leaders and answer questions or concerns regarding how the Postal Service can best suit their mailing needs.
Postal Customer Councils are local organizations that help foster a close working relationship between USPS and commercial mailers with the goal of sharing information about postal products, programs, and services through an educational and collaborative environment.
Peggy Smith of Brynca Software Solutions (pictured above in the black sweater) has been a member of the Postal Customer council for nearly 30 years. She was a PCC Co-Chair for several years and was a Board Member for 25 years. She spoke to the importance of the partnership between Business Leaders and the United States Postal Service. Peggy told us, “I wanted to know more about the Postal Service and how it works. By gaining a better understanding of how the Postal Service functions, I was able to educate our own employees and help them to understand how we can take advantage of the many services the USPS offers.”

The United States Postal Service is an independent federal establishment, mandated to be self-financing and to serve every American community through the affordable, reliable and secure delivery of mail and packages to 169 million addresses six and often seven days a week. Overseen by a bipartisan Board of Governors, the Postal Service is implementing a 10-year transformation plan, Delivering for America, to modernize the postal network, restore long-term financial sustainability, dramatically improve service across all mail and shipping categories, and maintain the organization as one of America’s most valued and trusted brands.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
