SOSO, MS — A string of storms that moved across parts of Mississippi over the weekend has resulted in temporary suspension of at least one Post Office.

The Soso Post Office, 1036 Highway 28 W, suffered extensive tornado damage. Until repairs can be made to the postal facility, Soso customers can pick up their Post Office Box mail, retrieve packages and obtain retail services at the Laurel Post Office, 315 Sawmill Road, Laurel, MS 39440.

Retail hours at the Laurel Post Office are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to noon Saturday, closed Sunday.

We apologize for this inconvenience to our customers and hope to have the office reopened and fully operational again as soon as possible.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
