As Richton, MS Postmaster, Hanners manages 16 dedicated employees who provide outstanding delivery and retail operations in Richton, MS and New Augusta, MS.
Hanners began his 28-year career as a Letter Sorting Machine (LSM) Operator at the Fort Myers, FL Processing and Distribution Center. He also was a mail handler at this location, and then a City Letter Carrier in Fort Myers, FL and Lehigh Acres, FL. He then transferred as a Letter Carrier to Bay St. Louis, MS and then Laurel, MS.
Hanners was promoted to several managerial positions in Mississippi, including Supervisor, Customer Service in Biloxi, Gulfport, and Laurel; Manager, Customer Service, Hattiesburg; and Postmaster, Hurley.
Currently, Hanners serves as Executive Vice President, United Postmaster and Managers of America, Mississippi Chapter, and will serve as President in 2024.
Hanners comes from a family of postal workers. His father, Michael Hanners, is retired Postmaster, Labelle, FL, as well as his uncle, Mark Hanners, and aunt, Kimberly Hanners, retired rural carriers, Bonita Springs, FL. His brother, Christian Hanners, is a mail handler at the Fort Myers, FL Processing and Distribution Center.
This event is free and is open to the public. Following the ceremony, light refreshments will be served at the Richton, MS Post Office, 201 Front St, Richton, MS 39476.
