Background:
Spiers grew up in Poplarville, MS just south of Lumberton, MS. As Postmaster, Spiers manages 17 dedicated employees who provide outstanding delivery and retail service in Lumberton, MS.
Spiers began his postal career as a Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) in Laurel, MS in 2016. After two years, he transferred to Poplarville, MS and became a City Carrier Assistant (CCA). He then served as Acting Supervisor, Customer Services at the Picayune, MS Post Office and was promoted to that position at the Hattiesburg, MS Post Office. Spiers served as Officer In Charge at the Lumberton, MS Post Office prior to his promotion to Postmaster at this location.
Being the Postmaster of Lumberton is my first official position where I can train and teach the new employees to grow and learn as much as possible,” Spiers said. “It’s very rewarding.”
Spiers is committed to the Postmaster General’s 10-year “Delivering for America” plan. He ensures that his customers receive timely, accurate delivery “every piece, every day.”
In his leisure time, Spiers enjoys golfing “all day, every day” and hopes to return the United Postmasters and Managers of America (UPMA) trophy to Mississippi from the national UPMA convention.
