Background:
Ashley R. Thomas grew up in Jayess, MS, just south of Monticello, MS. As Postmaster, Thomas manages 11 dedicated employees who provide outstanding delivery and retail service in Jayess, MS.
Thomas began her postal career as a Postal Support Employee (PSE) Clerk in Sontag, MS in 2018. After 11 months, she transferred to Foxworth, MS and became a Part-Time Flexible (PTF) Clerk. Two years later, Thomas transferred to Jayess, MS, her hometown. She then served as Officer In Charge (OIC), Jayess, MS Post Office and was promoted as Jayess, MS Postmaster.
“Being the Postmaster of Jayess is my first official position where I can train and teach the new employees to grow as postal employees in the community that I grew up in,” Thomas said. “It’s very rewarding.”
Thomas is committed to the Postmaster General’s 10-year “Delivering for America” plan. She ensures that her customers receive timely, accurate delivery “every piece, every day.”
In her leisure time, Thomas enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, sports, and spending time with her family.
