The Postal Service is proposing to move the Big Sky Post Office located at 55 Meadow Center Dr., to a new site at 110 Meadow Village Dr. The new location is than 500 feet — one minute — from the current Post Office.

The landlord who owns the property where the Big Sky Post Office is currently located is not renewing the Postal Service’s lease. A postcard was sent to the community for input and public comment in April of this year. Comments were reviewed and the decision to move the Post Office is moving forward.

In the interest of creating the least disruption for the community the Postal Service looked for a location close to the current facility. The new, proposed site is less 500 feet — less than one minute — from the current office location.

The Postal Service anticipates providing the same services at the new location as are currently provided to our customers at the existing location. Additionally, the Postal Service plans to continue services at the existing Post Office until late spring 2024.

While the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on its customers and the Big Sky community, community input was properly considered, and the decision is consistent with Postal Service objectives.
