The Postal Service expects to open its new Big Sky Post Office on July 15. The new site is located at 110 Meadow Village Dr., Big Sky, Montana and is less than 500 feet from the current contract office location.

The services Big Sky customers have come to expect from the Postal Service will be provided at the new location including Post Office Box (PO Box) services and 24/7 PO Box lobby access, expanded retail services, and smart lockers.

In the interest of creating the least disruption for the community the Postal Service looked for a location close to the current facility. The new site is less than one minute from the current office location.

While the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on its customers and the Big Sky community, community input was properly considered, and the decision is consistent with Postal Service objectives.

The landlord who owns the property where the current Big Sky Post Office is located did not renew the Postal Service’s lease. A postcard was sent to the community for input and public comment in April 2023. Comments were reviewed and the decision to move the Post Office was finalized in Oct. 2023.
