New Location Provides More Services for the Community
Today the Big Sky Post Office is officially open for business. The new Post Office location at 110 Meadow Village Dr., opened its doors to the community at 8 a.m.
The new retail location is postal owned and operated which means Big Sky Post Office customers not only have access to the same services found at the previous contract postal unit (CPU), but the full scope of postal services are also now available for the community. This includes access to all postal products and services such as stamps, domestic and international mailing services, parcel/smart lockers, and an increased number of available Post Office Boxes (PO Box) — by nearly 2,000 units. Both the PO Boxes and lockers have 24/7 access for customers.
Existing PO Box customers will keep their assigned box number and the size of their PO Box will not change. However, the keys for their previous box will no longer work. New keys will be given to customers at the new location. PO Box customers will be required to show a proper photo ID in order to pick up their new keys.
“We are excited to be able to open the new retail office to better serve the Big Sky community,” said Eric Gilbert, acting district manager for Montana. “A larger, postal owned location means more availability to meet all our customers’ mailing and shipping needs.”
The Big Sky Post Office new hours of operation are:
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday, and holidays – closed
PO Box lobby access – 24/7
PO Box delivery services – Monday – Saturday by 11 a.m.
The Postal Service is looking forward to welcoming customers at the new location.
Improving our facilities is just one part of the Postal Service’s larger 10-year Delivering for America plan to achieve financial stability and service excellence.
