CHARLOTTE, NC — The Postal Service will observe the Memorial Day federal holiday on Monday, May 27. Post Offices will be closed and there will be no mail delivery with the exception of Priority Mail Express, which is available 365 days a year.

Post Offices will reopen and regular mail deliveries will resume Tuesday, May 28.

If customers are in need of postage or other basic postal services, self-service kiosks are available at more than 2,883 locations nationwide and most are open 24 hours, 7 days per week. There are no extra fees to use the USPS kiosks. To locate a USPS Self-Service Kiosk, go to Quick Tools on usps.com to “Find USPS Locations.” In the drop down list under “Location Types” select “Self-Service Kiosks.” Enter your city and state, or your ZIP Code, and search to see a list of Postal facilities with kiosks closest to the location that you entered.

USPS self-service kiosks offer a wide range of services for simple transactions including:

• choosing the faster or most affordable shipping option
• weighing letters, flats, and parcels up to 70 pounds
• purchasing variable rate postage in any denomination for Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, First-Class Mail and USPS Retail Ground services
• purchasing Delivery Confirmation, Signature Confirmation, Insurance, Certified, and Return Receipt After Mailing services
• printing Priority Mail Express forms; performing ZIP Code lookup
• purchasing stamps; renewing your Post Office Box; paying with a debit, credit, or EBT card
• printing a receipt with the USPS Tracking number.

Informed Delivery lets residential consumers see what is arriving in their mailboxes by sending them digital previews of their incoming envelopes and postcards. These images can be viewed via email notifications or accessed through an online dashboard at informeddelivery.usps.com— perfect for travelers to check for important letters that are arriving over the holiday weekend.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
