Postal Service Resumes Service in Some Areas Following Hurricane Dorian

WILMINGTON, NC – Postal Service employees in impacted areas have been working to secure the mail, postal facilities and equipment and restore services following Hurricane Dorian.

Additional information regarding postal operations within specific ZIP Codes will be issued by the Postal Service as necessary. Customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) to obtain information, including alternate Post Office retail locations, or check www.usps.com.

 

Due to weather related conditions from Hurricane Dorian, the following are effective Saturday, September 7, 2019:

  • All Delivery, Retail and BME will resume in the 284 and 285 delivery area.
  • All collection boxes in the 284 and 285 delivery area will be back in service.
  • All PME and LIVES embargo will resume in the 284 and 285 area.
  • All DDU drops will resume in the 284 and 285 area.
