Postal Service plans relocation of Cameron Village Post Office

RALEIGH, NC — The U.S. Postal Service will relocate the Cameron Village Post Office to a yet-to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the current site.

We are in the process of searching for a new facility that will allow the Postal Service to offer the full continuity of services while remaining convenient for customers and suitable for Postal Service’s operational needs. Until a new, long-term location is found, the Postal Service will continue retail services at the temporary Post Office located at 806 Oberlin Road.

The relocation is necessary because the landlord did not renew the lease at the previous location.

The Postal Service does not anticipate any impact to mail delivery to local residents and businesses.

“The Postal Service greatly appreciates the input and support it has received from the community,” said Richard Hancock, Real Estate Specialist for the Postal Service. “The new location will allow us to better serve our customers.”

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
