Greater Charlotte PCC to Celebrate America’s Mailing Industry

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Greater Charlotte Postal Customer Council (PCC) is hosting an event to Celebrate America’s Mailing Industry with business leaders and mailing industry experts. The Greater Charlotte PCC was named PCC of the Year in 2017 and continues to win regional and national awards annually.

PCCs are groups of mailing industry leaders and postal leaders who meet regularly to network and exchange mutually beneficial ideas. There are more than 150 local PCC chapters throughout the nation. According to industry studies, the U.S. mailing industry employs more than 7.5 million people (92% in the private sector) and represents more than $1.4 trillion in sales revenue.

“This event will give us the opportunity to learn more about cutting-edge technologies and mailing industry best practices,” said Walter H. Rowland, Acting Charlotte Postmaster. “We look forward to a great event with our mailing partners, celebrating how far mailing has come in recent years and learning more about what’s on the horizon for the future of mail.”

The mailing industry consists of all the organizations that communicate with customers and constituents through the U.S. Mail on a large scale — from direct marketers, to publishers, to nonprofits, to public entities — as well as all the businesses that help prepare mail, such as ad agencies, print shops, software vendors, and transportation providers.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
