CHARLOTTE, NC — Postal Customer Councils (PCCs) across North Carolina and South Carolina are holding a free event for mailers, marketers, business owners and entrepreneurs on Friday, Sept. 22, about innovations in mailing and the transformation of the Postal Service under the Delivering for America, 10-year plan.
“The Delivering for America plan is streamlining our operations and improving our efficiency while offering new products and services that are tailored to meet the needs of all customers,” said North Carolina District Manager Roselle Murrell.
USPS Ground Advantage and USPS Connect are two new mailing solutions that have been introduced through the Delivering for America plan.
The Postal Service is also leading the growth of blending physical mail and digital technologies, and PCCs are offering unique ways for customers to learn about mailing innovation, including the benefits of our Informed Delivery feature.
“Digital technologies are revolutionizing the way businesses can engage customers through direct mail,” said Charlotte Postmaster Justin Henderson, who is also the Co-Chair of the Greater Charlotte Postal Customer Council (GCPCC). “These types of events are designed to help mailers and marketers learn about the evolving technologies and techniques in mailing.”

Postal Customer Councils
Postal Customer Councils, created in 1961, provide a unique opportunity for any business to meet with top level managers of the Postal Service to obtain information, share ideas, address issues, grow their business and network with other business colleagues.
“PCCs are the bridge between mailers and the Postal Service,” Henderson said. “They have a proven track record of success helping businesses grow through innovation in mailing.”
Delivering for America
The Postal Service continues to make progress on Delivering For America, the Postal Service’s 10-year plan to achieve financial sustainability and service excellence, including new offerings such as USPS Connect and USPS Ground Advantage.
The implementation of approximately 350 high-speed package sorting machines nationwide has increased the speed and consistency of package processing through the postal network. The most recent data shows average time for the Postal Service to deliver a mailpiece or package remained at 2.5 days, and we can process 70 million packages per day across our network.
