Sandy Ridge Carrier Accepts 2025 Kaplan Safe Driver Award
SANDY RIDGE, NC — Lynn Boles, a rural carrier in Sandy Ridge, NC, accepted the prestigious Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver of the Year Award for the Atlantic Area during a ceremony attended by family, friends and colleagues.
As she accepted the award, Boles, who has 40 years of service with USPS, spoke of her safety mindset, “You have to constantly be looking around and paying attention.”
She added, while pointing toward her children and grandchildren who were in attendance, “I have to get home to them.”
Maintaining her excellent safety record on her 77-mile route is not always easy because drivers are more distracted than ever these days.
Postmaster Ada Ramos opened the ceremony, speaking glowingly about Lynn’s commitment to safety and dedication to her customers and colleagues. The Kaplan award and commemorative medallion were presented by District Manager Scott Manier and Post Office Operations Manager Robert Hall.
“Safety will always be our top priority,” said Manier. “Lynn earned this award due to her excellent safety record and the example she sets for others.”
