Postal Service Continues Relocation Plans of Swannanoa Post Office

SWANNANOA, NC — The U.S. Postal Service continues plans to relocate the Swannanoa Post Office, previously located at 2311 US 70 Hwy, to a yet-to-be-determined location within a mile of the previous location. Relocation is necessary because the former location was damaged beyond repair.

The Postal Service’s goal is to find a new location that is convenient for customers and suitable for our operational needs. Swannanoa customers in need of retail services can continue to visit the Asheville-West Grace Post Office, located at 725 Merrimon Ave. in Asheville, until the new Swannanoa location is ready to serve customers.

Since the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact this decision has on our customers and the community, customer input will be sought and considered as we continue the relocation process. Swannanoa customers will be notified via signage at the Asheville-West Grace office and through a local mailing about the opportunity to submit comments.
