Automotive Technician

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Not all work at the Postal Service is processing, transporting or delivering mail. The Postal Service is looking to hire multiple automotive technicians in Fayetteville to maintain its postal fleet.

To assist potential applicants, USPS personnel will be available to provide detailed information and answer questions about open positions.

Automotive technicians and mechanics work in a vehicle maintenance facility noted for a clean and safe environment, state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, tools, and shop equipment, and environmentally friendly materials. The postal fleet includes light and medium delivery vehicles, tractors, trailers, service vehicles, and automobiles.

Applicants must be 18 years of age, be able to pass a drug screening and a background investigation, possess a valid driver’s license, and have two years of driving experience with a good record. In addition, Postal Service Test 943 and Test 944 must be successfully passed to demonstrate knowledge and ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs to automotive systems.
