The U.S. Post Office in Bismarck, ND, located at 220 E. Rosser Ave., will close its doors early Friday, August 16 for maintenance. Montana-Dakota Utility will be replacing a transformer that is leaking oil. This transformer provides electrical service to the entire Post Office building. Repair/replacement will start August 16 at approximately 4 p.m. Repairs are estimated to take four hours. Because of this interruption of power, the Bismarck Post Office will be forced to close at 3:30 p.m. There will be no impact on deliver services.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
