Sterling, NE - In accordance with 39 C.F.R. § 241.4, this is the United States Postal Service’s final decision with respect to the Postal Service’s proposal to relocate the Post Office that was previously located at 155 W Broadway, Sterling, NE to 101 W Broadway, Sterling, NE.  If this location is not adequate or an agreement cannot be reached with its owner, the Postal Service will consider other sites.

The Postal Service was unable to work at the prior building located at 155 W Broadway Street due to health and safety concerns and subsequently lost the lease at this site.  We understand the postal customers in Sterling do not want to drive to the Adams Post Office. They also prefer to not to retrieve their mail from the cluster mailboxes.  Accordingly, we intend to move to 101 W Broadway Street, Sterling, NE  and place a new building on such site.  The Postal Service anticipates providing the same services in the new building as was previously provided to customers in the prior building.  Additionally, the Postal Service plans to continue services at the Adams Main Post Office until the replacement at 101 W Broadway Street is open and operating as a Post Office.
