Transition will occur over Labor Day weekend
Portsmouth NH – The Post Office at 80 Daniel Street in Portsmouth will cease operations at close of business on Saturday, August 31. On Saturday, the retail window will be open until 12:30 p.m. and the lobby will remain open for Post Office Box customers until 4 p.m.
Effective Tuesday, September 3, Post Office Box customers currently getting their mail at the Daniel Street office will be assigned a new Post Office Box at our 345 Heritage Ave location. Full retail and shipping services are available at the Heritage Ave office. The retail window hours of operation at the Heritage Ave office are Mon-Fri from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sat from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Post Office Box lobby will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon-Fri and 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat.
Every effort is being made to make this transition as seamless as possible and there is no need for current box holders to file a change of address. Post Office Box mail will be automatically rerouted to their new box on Heritage Ave
Post Office Box customers who wish to opt for street delivery of their mail should contact Officer-In-Charge Patty Svoleantopoulos at the Heritage Ave Post Office to make those arrangements.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
