Safety Concerns Cause Mahwah P.O Emergency Suspension

MAHWAH, NJ – In the interest of public and employee safety, retail customer service operations have been temporarily suspended at the close of business on Thursday, March 7 due to leaks in the roof at the Mahwah NJ Post Office, 12 East Ramapo Avenue. Mail delivery to street addresses remains unaffected. Post Office Box customers can pick-up their mail at the Mahwah Carrier Annex, 46 Industrial Avenue, M-F 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Sat 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

As temporary alternatives for postal retail services, customers may want to consider the Ramsey Post Office, 175 East Main Street or the Saddle River Post Office, 177 East Saddle River Road. Retail customer service hours at the Ramsey Post Office are Mon – Fri 8:15 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sat 8:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Retail customer service hours at the Saddle River Post Office are M – F 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sat  9 a. m. – 2 p.m. Stamp booklets can also be purchased at face value at the following Mahwah businesses: CVS, 45 Franklin Turnpike and the Acme, 125 Franklin Turnpike.

No mail was damaged as a result of the roof leaks and no timetable has been established for the resumption of retail services at the 8,223 sq. ft. leased postal facility.
