Edison, NJ — Employees at the Postal Service’s Kilmer Facility at 21 Kilmer Road in Edison participated in the February 7 National Wear Red Day campaign. Employees throughout the 286,000 sq. ft. postal facility sported red dresses, sweaters, jackets, blouses, and ties to raise awareness and bring greater attention to heart disease as the leading cause of death in America.
National Wear Red Day is held on the first Friday of February, which is designated as American Heart Month. American Heart Month provides an ideal time and platform for reminding Americans to focus on heart health and encourage everyone to get their families, friends and communities involved.
In addition to wearing red, employees decorated the Kilmer facility with red balloons, paper heart cut-outs and enlargements of the Postal Service’s new Made of Hearts stamp. Issued in time for Valentine’s Day and American Heart Month, the new Forever postage stamp features horizontal lines of red and pink hearts on a white background.
