FORT STANTON, NM — Effective Friday, August 30, services will be temporarily suspended at the Fort Stanton, NM, Post Office, 100 Black Jack Pershing Rd., because of potential safety concerns.
Post Office Box customers can pick up their mail at the Capitan, NM, Post Office, 226 E Smokey Bear Blvd, during regular window hours of 8 a.m.–12:30 p.m., 1:30–4 p.m. Monday–Friday; and 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. Saturday.
The collection box outside the Fort Stanton Post Office as well as the lobby collection drop will no longer be available.
Customers who receive delivery will see little change to their service, but will need to go to Capitan to pick up hold mail or mail that requires a signature.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
