New Albuquerque Post Office Express Grand Opening Friday

Ready for the Busy Holiday Season

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — The U. S. Postal Service is pleased to announce that the new Louisiana Post Office Express at 7200 Montgomery Blvd NE, STE B-11, Albuquerque, NM, 87110, is open for business.

Customers are invited to join us Friday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. for a Grand Opening celebration. Refreshments will be served and customer service representatives will provide information about postal products and services.

“With the busy holiday season starting to ramp up, we’re ready to help our customers get their important packages and greetings on their way,” said Albuquerque Postmaster Chris Yazzie. “We’re creating easier, more convenient access to products and services when and where our customers want them.”

Yazzie will be available to speak with the public and the media from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.

The Postal Service expects to deliver about 800 million packages during the holiday season. In total, the Postal Service will deliver nearly 13 billion letters, cards, and packages from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve. The busiest mailing week this season will be Dec. 16-22, when more than 2.5 billion pieces of mail, including greeting cards and packages, are expected to be processed and delivered. Dec. 16 is expected to be the busiest day for usps.com with more than 8.5 million customers predicted to visit on that day alone.

A reminder that stamps and packaging supplies are available via your computer 24/7 at www.usps.com – where customers can also use their credit or debit card to purchase mailing labels for packages and then arrange for free carrier pickup of those items the next business day.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.s
