Las Cruces, NM – Charlotte Garcia was recently named the 41st Postmaster of the Las Cruces Post Office, serving the community for more than 171 years.

She began her career 9 years ago as a clerk in Deming, New Mexico and was promoted to supervisor customer service at the Deming Post Office. Garcia also served as postmaster in Deming, New Mexico. Prior to working for the Postal Service, she served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.   

Three years ago, the Postal Service implemented the “Delivering for America” (DFA) 10-year plan to achieve financial sustainability and service excellence. Garcia is doing her part by creating a stable environment for new employees and customers, as well as helping customers with their mail needs and questions.  

Garcia says, “I was born and raised in Las Cruces; this is home. I want to ensure that every customer receives quality service. I am honored to be part of this community and I have the very best team to serve the public.”

When not on duty, Garcia enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. She also enjoys reading and traveling.

As postmaster Garcia oversees 176 employees at four Post Office locations providing mail delivery and Retail services for Las Cruces residents.
