PLEASANTVILLE, NY — If you are considering international travel and need a passport, Pleasantville Postmaster Christine Rinaldi has good news for you. Postmaster Rinaldi is announcing special passport acceptance hours for Saturday, May 18 at the Pleasantville Post Office, 50 Memorial Plaza. Passport applications will be accepted 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on May 18. That’s an additional 3.5 hours more than the normal two hour Saturday passport acceptance window.
Postmaster Rinaldi emphasizes walk-ins are welcome on May 18, in addition to those who schedule an appointment online to apply for a passport. The Pleasantville Postmaster explains the USPS Retail Customer Appointment Scheduler at USPS.com/scheduler is a web-based application that allows customers to schedule a first-time passport application appointment at a local Post Office that offers passport acceptance services.
Pleasantville is one of the thousands of Post Offices around the U.S. that can accept first-time passport applications for the United States Department of State. Post Offices that accept passport applications offer products and services for both first-time and renewal passport applications. Some locations like Ardsley can also take your passport photo.
After the special passport event on May 18, normal passport acceptance hours at the Pleasantville Post Office return to Mon. – Fri. 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Sat. 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. with appointments required.
The Pleasantville Postmaster recommends reviewing the detailed guidelines for preparing passport applications, a list of the necessary supporting documents, and the current processing times at: www.travel.state.gov.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund operations.
