Annual Postal Service Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony, the traditional opening for a weekend of Memorial Day commemorations around the Capital Region. The outdoor program is open to the public and is a rain-or-shine event.

Opening remarks for the Postal Service will be offered by Henry Dynka, Albany District Manager.
Additional postal participants include original members of the Albany Postal Veterans Committee, Maryrose Behan, Robert LaDuke, Joseph Pollicino and Ernest Panunzio.

Background:
Patriots Way, established in 1999 at the Albany Processing and Distribution Center is commemorating its 20th year and 602 bricks dedicated to postal veterans living and deceased in recognition of their sacrifice and service to our country.
More than 105,000 veterans currently work for the Postal Service, including 727 assigned to the Albany District which reaches from the Finger Lakes to the Massachusetts border and from Plattsburgh to Watertown to Binghamton.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
