Postal Officials Announce Temporary Service Change for
National Puerto Rican Day Parade
Neighborhood Collection Boxes Receive Temporary Seal / Removal
New York, NY — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal the Postal Service’s collection boxes for the National Puerto Rican Day Parade taking place Sunday, June 9 in Manhattan.
The familiar blue collection boxes will be sealed, and in some cases removed prior to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 8. All impacted collection boxes will be reopened on Monday morning, June 10.
Postal officials advise local customers to make alternative plans to mail outgoing items at impacted locations during this time period (see below).
